Position Description:
Business Development Manager (BDM) is the primary company officer responsible for coordinating, developing and implementing strategies for revenue generation. The BDM is responsible for company growth through the award of contracts to Valour from commercial vendors (non-DOD) and Federal Government Agencies. Works with proposal team and other company officers to achieve business development goals set by the President/CEO. Proficient with industry standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the business development field; relies on experience and guidance from the President/CEO to plan and accomplish goals. Writes proposals and technical/general correspondence and develops promotional materials to earn contracts. Researches and develops potential business development opportunities for the company; advises President/CEO on the plausibility of identified business leads and the recommended resources to dedicate in pursuit of a contractual opportunity. Key player in maintaining business relations on current contracts and creating “Valour” advocates in the government. Also responsible for developing business with other companies either in a prime or subcontracting role.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

·         The following are the requisite education and/or experience requirement to qualify for the position as a BDM:

o   Bachelor’s Degree

    • Minimum of five years of experience in federal agency /commercial contracting as a successful business developer.

·         Must possess a current SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility.   

 

Essential Functions:  

  • Reviews commercial and Federal Contracting Agencies sources regularly to identify potential business opportunities for the company; responsible for generating annual revenue in contract awards to Valour that meets goals established by the President/CEO.

  • Capable of generating business calls and visits with potential clients, establish a professional relationship with clients and potential clients and the ability to maintain an on-going professional relationship with business clients.

  • Comfortable working in a demanding and competitive business environment with established company goals for revenue generation.

  • Capable of taking of broad company goals and guidance, translating that information into courses of action and executing approved plan to successful fruition.

  • Writes and creates proposals to support business development initiatives.
